Implement a National Prostate Cancer Screening Programme

Implement a National Prostate Cancer Screening Programme
The Issue
My Dad recently died from prostate cancer. His symptoms were minimal, and by the time he was diagnosed, the cancer had spread to his spine and became incurable. This personal tragedy has highlighted a significant gap in our healthcare system - the absence of a national screening programme for prostate cancer.
Across the UK
- Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men.
- More than 52,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year on average – that's 144 men every day.
- Every 45 minutes one man dies from prostate cancer – that's more than 12,000 men every year.
- 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime.
Around 490,000 men are living with and after prostate cancer.
(Prostate Cancer UK)
It's time we take action against this silent killer that claims too many lives prematurely due to late diagnosis. We need our health authorities to implement a comprehensive national screening programme for prostate cancer that could potentially save thousands of lives each year.
Please sign this petition and join us in urging our government to prioritize early detection and prevention measures for prostate cancer now!
We need 10,000 signatures for the government to respond and 100,000 signatures for it to be debated in parliament.
Thank you
