Gooses Law! A mandatory leash law for all canines in Georgia.

The Issue

On November 5, 2023, our beloved French Bulldog Goose suffered a brutal attack within the confines of our own yard. Two stray Pitbulls trespassed into our property and mauled Goose relentlessly. This horrific incident lasted over an hour until he passed out from the pain and trauma; only then did they leave him alone.

This is not an isolated incident. There are countless stray dogs roaming freely in Bulloch County, posing potential threats to other pets and even humans. The absence of a leash law in Georgia has led to this dire situation where innocent lives like Goose's are at risk.

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), uncontrolled dogs can cause traffic accidents, damage local fauna, spread diseases, and most importantly pose a threat to public safety (AVMA). In addition to this, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that approximately 4.7 million dog bites occur each year in the United States (CDC).

It is high time we take action against this growing issue by implementing a mandatory leash law for all canines in Georgia. This will not only protect pets like Goose but also ensure public safety by reducing instances of dog attacks or related accidents.

We urge you to support us as we strive towards making Bulloch County safer for everyone - humans and animals alike - by signing this petition today!
