📢 A BIG STEP FORWARD: Essex County Council Motion for Affordable School Bus Travel PASSES!

I have some encouraging news to share with everyone who has supported this petition.

Following the concerns raised by families, the campaigning, and the growing pressure for change, a motion calling for affordable home-to-school bus travel has passed at Essex County Council!

This is a significant step forward in getting school bus affordability taken seriously and exploring real solutions to the unfair costs families are facing.

The proposals include exploring:

🚌 A maximum daily student fare, potentially supported by council subsidies.

🤝 Negotiating fares with bus operators to secure more affordable prices for students.

🏫 Greater direct commissioning of school bus services by the council.
