In memory of Danny Garcia, who lost his life tragically in a vehicle collision on October 24, 2024, we must take action. Danny, a 34-year-old, was simply on his daily commute when a vehicle turning left from Laurel Drive onto Maryal Drive collided with his motorcycle. This tragic event occurred in our own Salinas city and is a direct consequence of a lack of necessary safety measures at this particular intersection.

How many more lives must we lose before changes are made? The City of Salinas needs to make the right choice for its citizens' safety by implementing a left turn signal at the intersection of E. Laurel and Maryal Drive. This is not a request based solely on a personal tragedy but a matter of public safety.
