The petition was delivered and acknowledged by our local MP, Kim Richards, on 6 September 2024.

The response was that the petition has been "passed through to the Transport Ministers office to investigate and discuss with the department and TransLink the potential for implementing a new bus route or a pilot for a service going southbound. We will provide you an update once we have received advice from the Ministers office."

Our local MP didn't feel it worthy of her personal attention and the petition, containing almost 180 signatures, was processed by her Administration team and deflected to another department despite her sitting on the Transport Committee.  No response has been received to date.

The LNP candidate for the State seat, Rebecca Young, has also been included in the correspondence along with our local Councillor, Julie Talty.  Both have expressed support for the initiative.

As Qld State Government has now passed into caretaker mode pending the October 2024 election, I can only assume that the matter has fallen into a black hole.  However, I will continue to pursue to achieve, hopefully, a positive outcome for our community.
