Implement a Communal Bin Area for Regular Waste Collection in St Helens

Implement a Communal Bin Area for Regular Waste Collection in St Helens
The Issue
I am a concerned parent, living in St Helens, Saint Helens, UK. Like many others here, I have children who play around our homes. However, our peace and safety are being threatened by an escalating waste management issue. Our council isn't collecting rubbish regularly which has led to bins sitting outside our doors for extended periods of time. This is not only unsightly but also poses a significant health risk as it attracts rodents.
This situation is creating an environmental hazard that affects everyone living here - adults and children alike. The lack of regular waste collection is contrary to the Waste Framework Directive 2008/98/EC which states that member countries should establish an integrated and adequate network of waste disposal installations (Source: European Parliament).
We propose the establishment of a communal bin area where residents can deposit their rubbish safely and regularly until it's collected by the council. This will help maintain cleanliness in our community while ensuring we live up to environmental standards set forth by law.
Our children deserve to grow up in a clean and safe environment free from potential health hazards caused by improper waste management practices. We urge the local council to act promptly on this matter.
Please sign this petition if you believe that every resident deserves a clean, safe environment for themselves and their families.
