Our community has endured too many heartbreaking stories of families getting hurt and losing their adored pets due to the use of fireworks. The loud noises cause trauma, anxiety, and panic attacks among animals who have very sensitive ears. Many get lost in their panic, increasing the population of stray dogs in Mauritius.

The impact extends beyond our pets. Bees become disoriented by the bright lights and loud sounds, failing to return to their hives which disrupts pollination processes vital for our ecosystem. Birds suffer mass deaths due to panic attacks induced by fireworks. Fish and other marine animals perish after ingesting firework debris that pollutes our waters.

Moreover, people are not immune from these harmful effects either - children included. Some suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) following firework events; others have been badly burnt or hurt during these celebrations.

Numerous countries have already enforced strict restrictions on the sale of loud fireworks to consumers. We propose an alternative solution - Silent Fireworks - which can still provide a visual spectacle without causing harm to all life on earth. 

Let's make Mauritius safer for everyone living here – humans, pets, wildlife alike – by banning traditional fireworks. We urge the local government authorities in Mauritius to take action now!
