Like many hardworking individuals in Omaha, Nebraska, my unconventional work hours make it difficult for me to access basic services and goods at night. Our only option is to travel a considerable distance to other towns or cities that offer a 24-hour service, which is not always feasible or safe.

With over 443,000 residents in Omaha, many of whom work non-traditional hours due to the city's bustling healthcare, education, and finance industries, it is surprising but true that we don't have round-the-clock access to large supermarkets like Walmart.

In providing 24-hour outlets, Walmart would not only be meeting an essential community need but also potentially boost its revenues. According to a report by the American Society of Employers, approximately 17% of workers are on non-daytime schedules. It means around 75,000 Omaha citizens could directly benefit from all-day access to a supermarket.

By signing this petition, we can show Walmart that there is substantial demand for extended service hours in Omaha. This change does not only make sense from a business standpoint but is also a responsible civic action to support the needs of hardworking individuals on alternative schedules.
