Operation Rescue PTSD service dog, Rockstar

Operation Rescue PTSD service dog, Rockstar

The Issue

Hello. I am a veteran diagnosed with PTSD. I have a service dog named Rockstar. He is a pitt/border collie mix and will be 2yrs old in June. On April 7th he was being antagonized by an intoxicated woman arond 10am at Slab City in Niland, California. A child had wandered away from his camp about a quarter mile away, without his mother knowing, and came up from behind my dog. The woman reached out to fist bump the child right next to my dogs head. He reacted to the surprise and the body language. He bit the child then immediately let go and began to cower on the ground. The child received stitches but is okay. The child has even said that he wants to adopt my dog since the incident occured. Imperial County animal control was called. I was offered a ride so we could go on the run. I stayed and voluntarily turned my dog over to animal control to do the right thing. Was told that he must sit in a 10 day quarantine. During this time they have declared that he is a vicious animal. He is now facing being put down for "attacking" a child. I do not deny Rockstar bit the child but he reacted, he didn't attack nor was he commanded to. Rockstar gives me purpose because he is my life and he deserves to live. Please sign the petition so I can get my service dog back. Thank you.
