Impeachment of David Katz and John Zunic Essex County NJ

Impeachment of David Katz and John Zunic Essex County NJ
The Issue
Petition to the Senator Andy Kim: Call for the Impeachment of Judge David B. Katz and Judge John Zunic
I am a New Jersey resident who was subjected to a prolonged, unjust, and deeply harmful divorce process under the jurisdiction of Judge David B. Katz of Essex County.
Judge Katz openly stated during proceedings that he resides in my town of Livingston, New Jersey, where he previously served as mayor. Despite this clear conflict and proximity, he presided over my case and subjected me to months of litigation abuse, including an extraordinary and unnecessary 50-day trial that caused severe emotional, financial, and familial harm when a contract had been signed by all parties in 2019 and yet the litigation abuse continued for years after instead of just granting me a divorce in 2019 and enforcing the agreement.
Rather than exercising neutral judgment, Judge Katz repeatedly issued rulings that escalated conflict, drained resources, and effectively blocked meaningful appellate review, leaving me trapped in a system without recourse. The cumulative effect of these actions has been devastating: I lost my home, my livelihood, and my stability as a parent.
A second judge, Judge John Zunic, later continued the abuse from November 2024 to 2025. Zunic has never met me, did not give me a trial, and took actions that escalated the harm even further. Despite no finding of incapacity, much like what happened to Brittany Spears, Judge Zunic broke the law and appointed my former husband as conservator over me, granting him authority to sign my name and control my financial and legal decisions — a situation disturbingly similar to widely recognized abuses of conservatorship power. An ex husband is not supposed to exert coercive control over an ex-wife after they are divorced.
This authority was then used to:
- Sell my marital home on February 5, 2025 without my consent in direct contradiction of a binding 2019 Mediation agreement
- Coordinate with Livingston police to harass and coerce me from my home
- Board up my residence while I was at work on February 4, 2025 with all of mine and my 2 kids belongings
- Had me arrested for “trespassing” in my own home
- Impound my vehicle and leave me homeless, with only the clothes I was wearing
This petition is not about dissatisfaction with a ruling — it is about judicial conduct that appears punitive, retaliatory, and destructive, with life-altering consequences for ordinary citizens. If you look up 60 West Hobart Gap Road Livingston NJ, I was on the deed. Everything that is going on now at that location is unlawful and illegal. Actions need to be taken to stop the illegal occupation and theft of this property.
We therefore call on Senator Andy Kim of New Jersey to:
Initiate an immediate investigation
Begin impeachment proceedings against Judge David B. Katz and Judge John Zunic
Take action to prevent further harm to families subjected to similar abuses of power
No judge should be permitted to use the bench to ruin lives, strip constitutional rights, or place citizens beyond meaningful review.
If you believe in accountability, due process, and equal justice under the law, please sign and share this petition.
here is a brief video where they did not present a warrant for my arrest and broke into my home.

I am not alone. Numerous individuals have come forward describing similar patterns of excessive litigation, financial devastation, and judicial overreach connected to these judges’ rulings. These outcomes raises serious concerns about systemic bias and abuse of authority within the family court system.
It is evident that these two judge are unfit to be on the bench; their actions are not just damaging but also indicative of systemic issues within our judicial system that need addressing urgently.
