I am a sixteen-year-old constantly living in fear. I should be worried about grades or love or hell needlessly petty drama. But today, I am worried about things no CHILD should be worried about. 

My name is Ryann.  I wasn’t born with that name. I identify as a transgender male. I was born a biological female. I realized I wasn’t comfortable being referred to as “she” or “her” in sixth grade. I didn’t dare tell my boyfriend at that time, knowing it would surely be the end of our relationship. I told my mother to which she promptly denied, chopping it down to hormones and “trying to fit in”. 

So I turned it off.

Or I tried.

I tried “they” and “them” which wasn't comfortable either. So I tried it all.  I started identifying as something called “genderfluid”, stating to my mom and boyfriend that I was okay with them referring to me as “she” and “her” if they wanted.

I wasn’t.

I was this and that all the way up until eighth grade. 

Even still, I started thinking;

“I want a flat chest.”

“I want a deep voice.”

“I want my kids to call me dad.”

“But I’m not transgender.”

I’d even started going by “Ryann”, saying that;

“My birth name just makes me uncomfortable. I’m not sure why.”

Eventually though, in eighth grade I met a boy. He was transgender and was starting hormone treatment. 

That’s when it finally started to crack.

I was transgender.

I was in severe denial.

My mental state was declining because the person I was meant to be was repressed deep inside my mind, somewhere I would never think to look. I started socially transitioning again. I told my friends to start referring to me as “he” or “him”, trying the words on like clothes, something I could take off, wanting to be sure this is what I wanted. These “clothes” started becoming my skin, something I couldn’t hide anymore, even if I wanted to.

Oftentimes, I wish I didn’t feel this way.

I wouldn’t be discriminated against. Slurs wouldn’t be hurled at me, I wouldn’t be told to kill myself almost weekly, I wouldn’t have to worry as much about the Trump administration.

Transgender people are being targeted under the second presidency of Donald Trump. This man's evil administration has taken steps to prosecute transgender individuals and completely disregard the second amendment. They provide misinformation that dehumanizes transgender individuals and paints them as the monsters of our society.

We are called pedophiles and groomers although research has shown LGBTQ+ identifying individuals are no more likely to offend than straight, cishet people

The Trump administration defunded and restricted gender-affirming care, going as far as to abolish the LGBTQ+ suicide hotline. He's defunded studies and education that would dispute his bullshit.

They have enabled the FBI to investigate trans people who are spreading "radical gender ideology". Donald Trump is WASTING the time of FBI agents by stereotyping transgender people.

Before you ask "why should I care"; it's not just transgender people Donald Trump is targeting.

He's after you daughters, your wives, your sisters, your mothers, your grandmothers. He is after our women.

Diane Henneuse, a sixty-year-old woman residing in Bellevue, Washington, provides her input, stating; I have never felt that Donald Trump cares one ounce about women. I have never felt protected by him. He cares nothing about our rights. His actions have shown it through the years. There are other things he should be tackling. He’s doing that to appeal to the people who elected him."

Donald Trump has defunded the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) which has dismantled and destroyed programs supporting women's health. These consist of programs that focus on disease, injuries, mental health, substance use, genetic disorders, and health disparities. This sets back efforts to treat, prevent, and discover cures for illnesses and diseases.

Donald Trump has created a health policy based on misinformation and as a result, created unhealthy and unsafe communities across the country for pregnant women. He's limited access to fertility treatment, family planning, and maternal care which creates a world of danger for women who are either pregnant, or planning to be in the future.

Additionally, Trump has stated "Tylenol causes autism". Tylenol is one of the only pain medications women can take while pregnant which criminalizes women who are already in a world of pain for trying to minimize it by taking Tylenol!

Furthermore, Donald Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" which was signed into law on July 4th, 2025 makes insane cuts to Medicaid and erode The Affordable Care act which does not only completely strip millions of women from healthcare, it tears healthcare away from the struggling, working class as well as CHILDREN.

NOBODY is safe.

As ICE hides their faces while taking our neighbors, our friends, our families. As they keep the people we love in CONCENTRATION CAMPS, they get to go home with a hefty paycheck and flaunt the fact they are persecuting people based on the COLOR OF THEIR SKIN.

Hispanic, Mexican, and Latino/a, individuals who are US citizens are being kept in bases comparable to concentration camps or prisons because they are another scapegoat of our American society.

Who do you think is committing 70% of the crime? Doo you think it's black people? Hispanic people.

According to the FBI 69.4% of ALL crime is committed by white people. Hispanic/Latino/a people commit 19.1% of crime compared to all other races.

We need to get this guy out of office before we return to 1940's Germany because we are well on our way.
