Travel Authorization letter for expired CoPR holders

The Issue

Dear Supporter,

We are a group of approved permanent residents in Canada who are exempt from the current travel restrictions but whose travel documents expired due to Covid-19 outbreak.

Having waited patiently for six (6) months with little or no hope of fulfilling our dreams, the Immigration agency in Canada - Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) requested our settlement plans and other relevant documents to prove our intention of moving permanently to Canada before our CoPRs (Confirmation of Permanent Residence) extension request would be granted.

These documents which include settlement plans in Canada, Confirmed travel ticket/travel plan Resignation letter, Rent expiration documents, Quarantine plans, Job offers in Canada, Bank statement etc. have since been submitted to IRCC. However, nothing is happening to our request. It has been a very loud silence post submission.

To this end, we seek your support to prevail on IRCC to grant CoPR extension request and issue travel authorization letter for approved applicants before 18th March 2020.

Our lives have been seriously impacted by the delay. We have since resigned our jobs, sold all our properties, rent expired and bags packed already before the pandemic struck. It is now becoming depressing for everyone as our lives are now put on hold with nothing doing in our various home countries. We are tired of the prolonged and undefined process.

We are counting on your support as you sign this petition. Let's win this together!

Thank you.
