I’m a new graduate from University of Auckland, will be leaving school in just a month, hoping to work in mental health field. I saw the news about the decision of having a new type of visa an hour ago. Personally I think it’s a great idea for New Zealand’s economy. Just a bit thought for new uni graduates. I’m not the only one who will leave my uni in just a month and apply for the post study visa. Being in NZ for more than three years I haven’t got the chance to go home because of the pandemic. I was hoping there’ll be some chance or pathway to help me stay in NZ as I really love this country.
  Now I’m writing with a bit disappointment because I delft being left behind with a uncertain future. As it says, EOI remains closed until middle of next year, what will happen to the policy no one is sure. For me, it’s more like I was played by the time itself, if the announcement is made on December but not end of September, the whole thing will be different for me. Not much new graduates are onshore right now, it is quite unfair to be left behind. I feel a lot of pressure right now, after I struggled to maintain myself in lockdowns.
Sincerely I hope INZ can consider us new graduates, allow more times for us to get our work visa so we can get a chance to work and live in NZ, contributing like anyone else.
