Hello I'm Maria Paula Saavedra, a 15 year old who is in grade 10 at Saint Andre Besset in London On.  My family and I came to Canada four years ago since my entire family was and still is at risk of being kidnapped and murdered in cold blood in Colombia.  My dad (Carlos Humberto Saavedra) and my mom (Maria del Socorro Patino) terrified for me and my sister lifes (Valentina Saavedra who was 16 at that time) decided to run to Canada.  We came to Canada looking for safety and with full of dreams, goals and plans. Canada has become our beautiful home, where we feel safe and in peace, where we've worked hard to help make this country even better, my sister and I are excellent students who have dreams like my sister who wants to become a doctor and I who want to become a lawyer.  My parents have worked hard since we moved, and in my opinion they're my heroes because believe me leaving your country without even being able to say goodbye and creating a home in a new country it's not easy and now trying to fight to stay in a place that is now our home is even harder.  My family and I are so thankful with Canada, to all the nice people we met, all the memories we have made and how safe we ​​feel in here.  But an immigration officer has decided to deport my family, knowing that our lives are at risk in Colombia.  I'm writing this petition to ask you for you to help my family stay here and save our lives.  I would be so thankful if you take 5 minutes of your time and sign this petition.  Please help this family at risk who don't want to leave the country that they now consider home and in which they want to continue to stay safe and achieve their dreams.
