Hello,

Many supporters of this petition have asked what the consequences of the election of Donald Trump may be on Javier's case. Well, first and foremost, I would note that much of the support we received from politicians and government leaders in this case came from Republicans. In addition, it appears Melania Trump is aware of Javier's case. But, most importantly, we were able to successfully convince DHS/ICE to NOT reinstate his prior order of deportation/removal, and place him into Immigration Court proceedings in Miami, like anyone else who did NOT have this prior order. This was a HUGE achievement in his case! With this huge victory, we will now finally be able to have his day in Court, which is what we've been wanting all along. Unfortunately, there is a huge backlog of cases in the Immigration Courts nationwide, including Miami. There are nearly 4 million pending cases! So, we will be representing him in this important process and seeking cancellation of removal, since he has been here in the U.S. for well over 10 years and has his 3 U.S. citizen daughters who will suffer extreme and exceptionally unusual hardship if he was to be deported/removed back to Mexico.

On another note, I will be appearing on WPTV, NBC Channel 5 in West Palm Beach to discuss the immigration implications of the Trump victory. This interview will take place this Sunday morning at 10 a.m. I look forward to discussing the many important issues, from the concept of "mass" deportation, to all the many other issues implicated under the new Administration.

So please tune in - and thank you once again for all of your support in this important and compelling case!
