Immigrant Advocacy Act

The Issue

The Immigrant Advocacy (Bipartisan) Act was created to support and protect immigrant communities in High Point and Guilford County, NC. Immigrants play a vital role in our economy, workforce, and culture, yet many live in fear due to federal immigration enforcement. Families are often torn apart, students risk disruptions in their education, and local businesses face uncertainty, all because of policies that leave communities unprotected.

Our project unites students, local leaders, nonprofits, and immigration lawyers to advocate for safer and more inclusive school and city policies. We work to improve access to resources and bilingual support, provide confidential educational programs for immigrant students, and encourage protocols that limit local law enforcement cooperation with ICE. These efforts ensure that immigrant communities can live without fear while contributing fully to our city.

Every detainment and deportation has lasting impacts on families and communities. By signing this petition, you are helping us take meaningful, local action to protect all immigrant families, strengthen our schools and neighborhoods, and ensure that everyone in our community has the opportunity to thrive safely and without disruption.
