Immediately overturn Josh Donaldson’s suspension

The Issue

While on base during a game between what has developed into a rivalry of sorts, between the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox, Yankees third-baseman Josh Donaldson asked White Sox  shortstop Tim Anderson (who had become known for his confrontational on-field antics as of late) What’s up, Jackie?” referring to a 2019 remark Anderson made, likening himself to the “modern-day Jackie Robinson”. Despite Donaldson’s explanation of the incident and his having no intention of racial implication and that his comment was more a dig at Anderson’s perceived arrogance, he was subsequently suspended (under appeal) as of May 23, 2021. We demand that MLB commissioner Rob Manfred immediately and unequivocally reverse Donaldson’s suspension, lest the game become a place where a player can weaponize political activism and twist words in an effort to damage another player’s career because the tide of the game wasn’t going his way. Do right by Josh Donaldson.
