**Immediate Call for Action: Drop Branksome Triangle as Traveller Site**

The Issue

We, concerned residents and stakeholders of Talbot & Branksome Wood Ward and fellow BCP residents, urgently call for the cancellation of Branksome Triangle's designation as a Permanent Traveller site in the BCP Local Plan. This decision, made without proper transparency or consultation, is unacceptable for the following reasons:

1. **Opaque Process**: The choice of Branksome Triangle was decided without sufficient engagement with either residents or ward councillors, revealed only 48 hours before public announcement.

2. **Policy Breach**: The BCP Council's failure to comply with government guidelines in selecting Branksome Triangle as a Traveller site has sparked complaints.

3. **Inappropriate Site**: Issues with access, environmental impact, and the site's encirclement by high fencing make it unsuitable.

4. **Safety Concerns**: Its close proximity to railway lines, viaducts and a high voltage electrical substation that present dangers to families.

5. **Inadequate Living Conditions**: The site does not support a satisfactory quality of life for the Traveller community, with unresolved questions about land contamination.

Kushti Bok and a Romany community representative have also expressed serious reservations, including concerns over prior contamination reports.

We demand that the BCP Council:

- Immediately withdraw Branksome Triangle as a Traveller site proposal.

- Commit to transparent and inclusive future consultations with all stakeholders.

- Prioritize the safety and well-being of all communities in planning decisions.
