Background:
Concerned parents of The New School, initiate this petition to address a pressing issue that affects our children's, school staff's, and residents' safety and well-being. We urgently call for improved road safety measures near The New School, particularly at the junction of Elder Rd and Central Hill / Crown Dale, crossing Crown Dale to The New School and The Cedars School. 

The New School (SE19 1RT) is home to our children, and their safety is our top priority. Four other schools are within a quarter of a mile of the junction of Elder Rd and Central Hill / Crown Dale, creating a high concentration of young people, pedestrian families and school staff walking to and from school daily. Current road safety conditions in the area do not adequately protect our children and other pedestrians, leading to growing concerns about their well-being.

At times, at Central Hill / Crown Dale, one has an obstructed view when crossing, due to unlawfully parked vehicles too close to the schools' gate. This is making it dangerous for pedestrians, and especially for children. Speeding cars on Central Hill / Crown Dale further increase the danger for students and pedestrians.

Our Request:
We request the implementation of the following road safety measures, specifically at the junction of Elder Rd and Central Hill / Crown Dale:

• Installation of traffic lights or a Zebra Crossing to cross Central Hill / Crown Dale from the Southwest end of Norwood Park to the school gate of The Cedars (which forms the entrance to The New School's premises, too).
• Measures to address the unlawfully parked vehicles obstructing the view when crossing Central Hill / Crown Dale.
• Enforcement of traffic regulations to curb speeding on Central Hill / Crown Dale.
