I am writing to share my mother’s heartbreaking story to shed light on the critical issues faced by many vulnerable individuals in care facilities. My mother endured numerous falls, suffered a stroke, and faced unimaginable circumstances, including being sexually assaulted—all while in a facility meant to care for her.

My mother transitioned on December 27th at 5:21 AM, but I refuse to let her voice be silenced. Her fight, her pain, and her strength inspire me to advocate for change.

It is crucial to raise awareness about the systemic issues that can place our loved ones in harm's way. We must ensure that our elderly and vulnerable individuals receive the respect, dignity, and protection they deserve.
