Assalamualaikum everyone,

I am asking our community to come together and stand up for Imam Hamid of High Barnet Islamic Centre.

Imam Hamid has been a pillar of our mosque. He has served, supported and guided so many of us and our children. His employment was ended abruptly and, in our view, without a fair or proper process. No reasons have been given to the community.

This is not only about one person’s job. It is about fairness, transparency and the future of HBIC.

Serious questions remain unanswered. Members have been unable to obtain a copy of the mosque’s constitution, and important decisions are being made without explanation. Our mosque belongs to its community, and trustees are entrusted to serve it.

We are asking the trustees to:

1. Explain the reasons for this decision to the community.
2. Reinstate Imam Hamid while a fair and independent review takes place.
3. Share the constitution and hold an open general meeting.

Please forward this to family, friends and everyone who prays at HBIC.

This is our mosque, our community and our responsibility. Let’s stand together, peacefully and respectfully.
