No doubt 2020 has presented many challenges at all levels due to the pandemic. Imagine Prep Varsity Football is currently facing a big one and asks for your support. The team was allowed to take to the football field in July under strict Covid guidelines as was most Arizona schools. Coming out of a lock down the boys were eager to get some normality back in their life. The season kept getting pushed back until it kicked off in September. The 24 athletes practiced long and hard learning to play as one and became a state contender. Depending on each other, leaning on each other and pushing each other as they focused on their goal of a state championship. The boys have gone through the season without anyone testing positive for COVID-19 which was one key to reaching their goal. Quarantined teams obviously forfeit games. The Storm Football team is off to the schools best start to date and are currently ranked 2nd in state with one game remaining before the abbreviated 2-week playoff of the top 4 teams. The school made a decision to go back to distance learning, and unexpectedly decided to shut down all sports on November 30. This essentially takes this team out of the playoffs which go intil 12/12. The players are asking to be able to finish what they started and have worked so hard to do. Don’t let their dream be crushed this close to the finish line! Please support our plea and LET US PLAY!
