Naturopathic Physicians hold a doctorate in naturopathic medicine from a four-year, graduate-level, federally recognized and accredited naturopathic medical school. These schools train physician-level practitioners in diagnosis and scientifically based treatment with emphasis on natural therapies. Naturopathic medicine is a distinct, comprehensive system of healthcare emphasizing the use of natural therapies in health promotion and disease prevention.

Naturopathic physicians are trained as integrative doctors who emphasize the use of natural therapies to treat acute and chronic illnesses and to provide preventative treatment to individuals and families.

- Offer universal access to Naturopathic Medicine that is safe and performed by qualified physicians who have met established educational and medical training standards.

- Increase collaborative health care and provide patients with the most effective integrated care possible. Naturopathic doctors are trained to refer their patients to conventional medical doctors for additional diagnosis and conventional treatments. Many conventional doctors want a licensed provider of natural medicine to whom they can confidently refer their patients for natural therapies. 

- Reduce health care and prescription drug costs through Naturopathic Medicine.
