On July 14th a group of 20 Onewheel riders gathered at Harms Woods in Glenview, Illinois.  Someone filed a complaint with the Forest Preserve police, the group was asked to leave by authorities and complied.   

This petition proposes to include Onewheel in Cook County Forest Preserve municipal code, Chapter 4 Section 3.  We propose Onewheel must follow all rules for bicycles in the municipal ordinance, and specifically included in title language for 4-3-1.B  "Motorized Bicycles and Onewheel"

We understand and support the municipal code is written and enforced for the safety and enjoyment of everyone.    

Excluding Onewheel from Cook County Forest Preserve is reasonably discriminatory because bicycles, motorized bicycle, horses, snowmobiles and pedestrians consistently disobey the existing municipal ordinance.  Bicycles and motorized bicycles are capable of speeds over 15mph, and the Cook County Forest Preserve Trail Risk Statement states the inherit risks of ANY activity on its trails.

Including Onewheel to the existing ordinance will help it's riders understand the rules and follow them.
