STOP COMMON CORE IN ILLINOIS!! Common core is a violation of the 10th Amendment of the Constitution. Existing law says the federal government shouldn't make curriculum decisions.

Common Core is a one size fits all education. It is not developmentally appropriate for students, especially those in first through third grades, but affecting children from kindergarten through the 12th grade. It is comprised of overly complicated examples and constant testing. The grading system is corrupt. It is not about giving our children an education or unlocking their potential, it's about dictating their future.

Common Core is an untested initiative developed by non-educators with the financial backing of The Gates Foundation, Pearson Publishing, Achieve and others who stand to make billions of dollars from it.

Communities had no vote or choice in this initiative. The Standard was sneaked in sight unseen by a Stimulus Bill  in 2009 (Race to the Top) for 4.35 billion dollars promised to the states if they agreed to implement it.

The adoption of the Standards requires extensive collection of personal, family, social and behavioral data.

We want to stop the PARCC testing as well. PARCC is such a huge problem because we are no longer teaching our kids anything real. We are teaching them how to pass a test. Their whole education is now tailored to how to excel on PARCC testing!

The Common Core Standards are a harmful and toxic initiative. Do Not  allow the government to abuse our children with this ridiculous, mind numbing alternative to public education.
