Residents of Illinois’ 7th Congressional District deserve transparency, accountability, and equal access to every candidate seeking our vote.

Campaign mailers, press releases, and controlled appearances are not substitutes for open public dialogue.

We are calling for a publicly scheduled debate before Election Day that includes all major candidates who have filed to run in this district, including but not limited to:

Democratic candidates:
Richard Boykin, Kina Collins, Melissa Conyears-Ervin, Anthony Driver Jr., David Ehrlich, Thomas Fisher, La Shawn Ford, Jason Friedman, Rory Hoskins, Anabel Mendoza, Jazmin Robinson, Reed Showalter, and Felix Tello.

Republican candidates:
Patricia Easley and Chad Koppie.

We further call for:
• A neutral, respected moderator
• Public access in person or by livestream

A public debate allows voters to hear candidates side by side, compare positions directly, and evaluate leadership under the same conditions.

This request is not about party affiliation. It is about voters.

If candidates are asking for the support of this district, they should be willing to stand on the same stage, answer the same questions, and present their vision publicly.

We urge all declared candidates in Illinois’ 7th Congressional District to commit to a formal, publicly accessible debate prior to Election Day.
