Cowhide, leather, and other animal-based products in IKEA is not a pretty sight. Outside of the food court, there are a variety of great products in IKEA. They claim to be very eco-friendly and sometimes can be. But selling animal products as furniture is not acceptable.

One hundred million animals are killed every year just for their fur. Animals don’t deserve to be pointlessly killed so we can have a nice looking carpet. We can do better than this. There are many fur-free alternatives. If IKEA is concerned about the environment, then they should get rid of their leather , cowhide, other animal products used for furniture. The effect this has on animals and the environment is enormous. It is unfair and unjust to continue to sell these products outside of the IKEA food court as furniture or decoration. Any home is better without animal fur and skin around. It is only a reminder of how horrible we have been to our environment.
