Spouses of Canadian Citizens and permanent residents are waiting too long for the slow process of Spousal Sponsorships applications at the Canadian Embassy in Lebanon.

This petition purpose is to ask the IRCC to create a special task force or have an exemption for the Lebanese spouses to have a faster processing time looking at the Country unsafe and unstable situation.

The situation is escalating for the worse in Lebanon, no fuel, no medications available, no electricity and no basic human rights. Canadians and permanent residents want to be reunited with their Lebanese spouses to start their life in Canada, where they can be safe. 

Most applications are taking between 1.5 - 2 years sometimes even more to be fully processed specially now during Covid, most of the long process excuse is “Due to COVID-19 impact” while most other countries went back to normal processing times and even faster than before.
