One of the main goals of Team #4645 X-Machina to see every school in Chicago start a FIRST Robotics team. Robotics is the only sport where everyone can go pro. It inspires a love of knowledge and a sense of achievement that is unparalleled. The guidelines to become an IHSA sport have recently broadened to include chess and drama and we feel passionately that they should include competitive robotics as well. We believe that having robotics recognized as an IHSA sport will encourage involvement among Chicago Public Schools and pique interest among students statewide.
