If There Is Ever To Be More Done For Age Of Empires II, Please Be Sure To Do The Following
The issue
Previously I started up a petition in Age of Empires II where after The Last Khans expansion, there should be atleast one more, I even mentioned what the game wouldn't truly be done for without: https://www.change.org/p/microsoft-please-do-one-more-hd-expansion-for-age-of-empires-ii
I only figured this out this week, but it turns out that there had been 4 more expansions in the past 3 years all as part of the Definitive Edition which The Last Khans was part of, when combined it totals to 8 new civilisations (even as far as losing the Indian civilisation), none of which are for an entirely new architechural styles, some you might think would be completely unnecessary due to being similar to stuff that the game already has to offer. I have believed that Age of Empires II wouldn't be truly be done with until there's an even number of civilisations, or when the civilisation total is perfectly balanced like in The Conquerors expansion. If there is to be more civilisations, they should be ones that don't have the Mediterranean and Eastern European architectural styles due to their now being 6 of them, and they should make the following changes that haven't been made already:
*All Elite Upgrades of Non-Unique Units having unique designs.
*Buffs and Nerfs that people have long been asking for with civilisations.
*Some of the civilisations having changes to what units and technologies that can and can’t have access to, whilst still keeping things in a way for all upgraded forms except Men-at-Arms and War Galleys not being available to atleast one civilisations, for one with Gunpowder Units and Bombard Towers.
*Fixing stuff that causes the game to crash.
*It being possible to change team names and objective names in extracted campaigns. *New scenarios that feature civilisations that hadn’t been given very much representation already, like say Koreans.
*Changing architectural styles of existing scenarios that don’t seem accurate, if there are any.
In addition to making changes to scenarios that hadn’t been made already:
*Changes to how many resources that the player starts with in a scenario.
*Additional Buildings being present, especially if they help with a task or when it comes to certain starting points with villagers in a way to save having to build especially a town centre.
**5th Genghis Khan Scenario could use a Gaia Mining Camp.
**6th Genghis Khan Scenario could use a Gaia Siege Workshop with Siege Onagers beside them.
**4th Attila the Hun Scenario should use a Gaia Village on the map rather then having to build it from scratch.
**4th El Cid Scenario could use a Monastery at the base you gain ownership of, plus a Missionary should stand beside it.
**Some Scenarios could use a dock owned by the player (plus have a Transport Ship already beside it at times like the 2nd El Cid Scenario) either already on the map, has it’s ownership changed, is a gaia dock, or spawns automatically after a task is completed.
**Some Scenarios could use an additional castle in their starting base.
*Additional Units that weren’t there originally, for instance with Petards, as well as additional Gaia Units on the map somewhere in some scenarios.
*New Optional Objectives for Age of King’s Scenario with already existing tasks that for some reason wouldn’t show up originally.
*Changes to what Age some scenarios start in, along with disabling what age can be advanced to in some scenarios.
**First 3 William Wallace scenarios for example should not let you advance past the Dark Age based on the objective, and the 4th scenario should not let you advance past the Feudal Age, and the 6th scenario should not let you advance past the Castle Age.
**First 2 Barbarossa Scenarios should not let you advance past the Castle Age.
**More Scenarios that start in the Post Imperial Age.
*Additional Flags and Map Revealers on the map in scenarios that don’t already have them.
*Some Units getting their own team on the map, for instance:
**Subotai in 6th Scenario of Genghis Khan Campaign prior to joining player.
**The Rebel Galleons in the 2nd Scenario of the El Cid Campaign.
**The Black Guard Mosque in the 4th Scenario of the El Cid Campaign.
**Tlaluc in the 2nd Scenario of the Montezuma Campaign.
**Tours in Battle of the Conquerors Scenario of same name.
**Trade Carts owned by Moors in Tours before joining the player after task is met.
*Additional Hero Units in existing scenarios like Hernan Cortez himself, Jimena, Motamid and Barbarossa himself being added in scenarios that would best suit their presence.
*Civilisation Changes to some teams to be more historically accurate, and to reflect newly introduced civilisations, especially when it comes to being consistent with other scenarios:
**Chalon in 4th Scenario of Joan of Arc Campaign being Britons like the other enemies.
**Jerusalem’s civilisation being consistent in all appearances.
**There being teams that change to Bergundians and Bohemians which don’t have Burgundy or Bohemia as their name.
**Any Enemy that shouldn’t be Teutons in 1st Scenario of Barbarossa Campaign being changed.
**River Guards in 3rd Scenario of Barbarossa Campaign being Italians like the other enemies on the map, changed for the same reason that they all were.
**Padua in the 4th Scenario of the Barbarossa Campaign not being Italians.
**Milan in 6th Scenario of Attila the Hun Campaign being Italians like they are in 3rd Scenario of Barbarossa Campaign.
**Western Roman Empire being the same civilisation in all Attila the Hun Scenarios.
**Teams in Montezuma Campaign all being the Meso American Civilisation that seems more historically accurate to them.
**The playable team in Hastings Scenario since they’re Normans should be a Central European Civilisation like the other teams are (either Goths or Teutons), or the playable team can be Normans through the Civilisation name changing trigger, same thing can be done about the team called Normans in Scenarios of the Bari Campaign.
**Goturks in Bukhara Scenario being Tartars.
**Scythians in all Scenarios that feature them being represented by a Central Asian Civilisation (Tatars or Cumans) rather then Mongols.
**And those based on what new civilisations get introduced in later expansions..
*Changes to the colours of teams in the scenarios, which can be done both for being consistent and with what seems better suiting:
**Grey being the colour for most minor teams on the map, eg. Serfs in 1st El Cid Scenario, Toledo in 2nd El Cid Scenario, and Conquered Aztecs in 4th Montezuma Scenario.
**Teams being the same colour as they are in other scenarios, unless the colour was changed because of other teams featured on the map.
**Tlatiluco in 1st Scenario of Montezuma Campaign not being red like Tlaxcalans.
**Cortez Army in 6th Scenario of Montezuma Campaign being cyan, since no cyan teams are featured in other scenarios of the campaign.
**Playable teams of a Civilisation in a Scenario always being the same colour, eg. having the playable team in Tours Scenario being blue.
**Among Others.
*Only units that appear in the Tech Tree of each civilisation unless Gaia or have their Ownership Changed appear on the map, so those that had their civilisations changed from previous versions can change up their unique units.
*Stuff that weren’t present initially being present in some scenarios:
**More Scenarios with objectives that involve defeating a team where they automatically resign after one of their buildings like a town centre get destroyed.
**Heresy being disabled for teams in scenarios where converting a unit or building is an objective.
**Extra Transport Ships being featured in 3rd Scenario of Joan of Arc Campaign.
**Monks appearing at start of 3rd Scenario of Saladin Campaign in North Base.
**There being more room to build a wonder at player’s base in 6th Scenario of Saladin Campaign.
**Engineers eventually changing their diplomacy to ally in 3rd Scenario of Genghis Khan Campaign, and them having Gaia Navy that includes Transport Ships with Gaia Units inside.
**There already being a town centre in 3rd Scenario of Barbarossa Campaign, saves having to convert villagers.
**There being additional Gaia Units to help break into Constantinople in 5th Scenario of Barbarossa Campaign.
**God’s Own Sling and Bad Neighbour being by Richard the Lionhearted’s side in 6th Scenario of Barbarossa Campaign.
**Automatically Advancing to Feudal Age in 1st Scenario of Attila the Hun Campaign after gaining ownership of Bleda’s team.
**Enemies changing their diplomacy to ally after completing tasks in 2nd Scenario of Attila the Hun Campaign, plus there being a Gaia Trebuchet to help with one of the tasks.
**Bavecia appearing in 3rd Scenario of El Cid Campaign before being mounted.
**Palisade Wall surrounding where Wonder gets built in 5th Scenario of El Cid Campaign.
**1st Scenario of Montezuma Campaign starting with 4 Eagle Warriors, there being a Gaia Transport Ship, and Monks spawning after all Relics have been found.
**Strong Navy appearing with Gaia Transport Ships in 4th Scenario of Montezuma Campaign.
**One of the towns change their ownership once reaching it in Agincourt Scenario.
**All of Osaka becomes the Players upon reaching the town centre in Tokyo Scenario.
**Among Others.
**Doing away with some of the changes made already that people found completely unnecessary due to preferring how things were originally.
*Diplomacy Issues with Allies in Scenarios on the map with enemies of the player being fixed.
*Building Wonders not being used for automatic victory unless they play an important part in the scenario.
At this rate I suppose there could be 45 civilisations total to wrap things up with Age of Empires II due to the presence of 2 blank spaces on what there is currently, which though not leading to an even number total would lead to a composite number total, what matters though is balancing each of the architechtural styles. Previously considered civilisations that got turned down which still haven't made it meanwhile are Swiss, Hasburgs and Tibetans, 2 of which might as well sit out due to possibly being of architectural styles that already have 6 civilisations, as should Moors based on how it would make what's already there like Saracens become pointless.
