Add BK's Ian Arellano to 4A All-SIC 2018

Add BK's Ian Arellano to 4A All-SIC 2018
The Issue
Bishop Kelly junior Ian Arellano burst onto the scene as a dynamic playmaker in the Knights running attack. He rushed for 1,446 yards, 20 touchdowns, and finished 4th in the state in rushing. Sounds like he should make all-conference right? Wrong, apparently. The following players were ranked lower than Arellano, but still got the All-SIC nod:
- Brian Carrillo (Nampa): 1,303 yards, 16 TDs. (1st team)
- Michael Sondermann (Ridgevue): 1,155 yards, 11 TDs. (1st team)
- Thomas Rizzo (Bishop Kelly): No stats reported on Idaho Statesman (2nd team)
- Carson Child (Vallivue): 1,194 yards, 14 TDs. (2nd team)
- Michael Cox (Columbia): No stats reported on Idaho Statesman (Honorable Mention)
- Jose Berber (Vallivue): No stats reported on Idaho Statesman (Honorable Mention)
- Alex Bernal (Nampa): 626 yards, 5 TDs. (Honorable Mention)
- Donovan Estrada (Nampa): 960 yards, 9 TDs. (1st team/FLEX)
That is a grand total of 7 running backs and a flex player who got in over Arellano, and yet 3 of those players didn't even have a single rushing stat reporting.
The disrespect is unbelievable. No disrespect to any of the above players, nonetheless it is ridiculous to think that Ian Arellano doesn't have the title "2018 All-Conference" next to his name. Not even as an honorable mention.
