April 28, 2021, Idaho legislature passed a bill allowing a non-regulated “90%” of its wolf population to be eradicated. This allows hunters of any kind to kill wolves mercilessly without any regulations or restrictions. All wolves are in danger; even mothers with pups. Wolves play a huge part in maintaining the ecosystem and natural order of life. Have we learned nothing from the disappearance of wolves from Yellowstone National Park to the reintroduction of them and how it has shaped the entire ecosystem? These majestic beings should not be punished. Farmers need to come up with more efficient ways to raise and protect cattle and other livestock if they have a problem with naturally occurring predators. Old ways are clearly not working and an entire species should not be destroyed to suffice. Humans are given the gift of reasoning yet we behave in such monstrous ways. Use our knowledge to find better solutions so we can coexist with nature.
