Jeffrey Donson, a convicted child rapist, who is convicted of raping a 15 year old girl seven times, has been re-elected as the Mayor of Kannaland, Western Cape. This is an outrage. He was convicted in 2008 and sentenced to 5 years in prison. He appealed to the Western Cape High Court and although the conviction remained in place, the imprisonment was suspended. 

Werner Meshoa has been convicted of fraud and the obstruction of justice and yet he has been elected Deputy Mayor of Kannaland. Meshoa was sentenced to 18 months in prison or a R6000 fine. He was sentenced to 36 months house arrest for the obstruction of justice. Both Donson and Meshoa are members of the Independent Civic Organisation of South Africa (ICOSA).

WE demand that:

1. ICOSA remove Mayor Donson and Deputy Mayor Meshoa and find people of integrity to serve the municipality of Kannaland.
2. the ANC put forward a motion of no confidence to have Donson and Meshoa removed as mayor/ deputy mayor of Kannaland.
3. all the opposition parties support such a motion of no confidence. 

Our leaders should be people we can trust to lead our communities, these two are people we cannot trust. They must go!
