Did you know bosses at a major UK supermarket have abandoned their cage-free promise, claiming it costs too much to stop using eggs from hens confined to cruel cages?
I’m not talking about Iceland - which has now reinstated its promise as a result of your support for this very campaign.
I’m talking about Farmfoods, the major UK supermarket which brings in revenue of £1 billion a year.
They’ve ditched their promise even though every other big UK supermarket has committed to stop using cages.
Oh, and - get this - Farmfoods are selling their caged eggs for the same price as free-range eggs in some other supermarkets.
It’s time we stand up to this blatant attempt by Farmfoods bosses to profit at the expense of sensitive, intelligent hens who deserve so much better. Will you sign our new petition now to heap the pressure on George and Eric Herd, the father and son leaders of Farmfoods?
