ICE Out of Dallas: We Demand Public Statements and an End to Collaboration with ICE

The Issue

Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux has refused to publicly clarify whether the Dallas Police Department collaborates with ICE. When asked by the Police Oversight Board, he stayed silent. Meanwhile, immigrant families are living in fear. A local food drive reported a 40% drop in participation due to fear of law enforcement presence.

Instead of transparency, we’ve seen:

  • The Police Oversight Board blocked from asking about specific immigration enforcement.
  • Private meetings with select organizations while the broader community is shut out.
  • Public silence from Sheriff Brown and city leadership.

We demand:

  • A public statement from Chief Comeaux and Sheriff Brown clarifying their departments’ role in immigration enforcement.
  • A clear commitment from DPD and the Sheriff’s Office that they will not assist ICE or HSI in civil immigration enforcement, including non-warrant holds, coordination, or detainers.
  • Full transparency around any agreements or cooperation related to SB8 or 287(g).

Every Dallas resident deserves to feel safe regardless of immigration status. We will not accept silence or backdoor cooperation with ICE.

Sign this petition to demand clarity, accountability, and safety for immigrant communities in Dallas.

Then join us at the Dallas City Council meeting on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, to deliver these demands in person.
