Stop the deportation of Hulissa's Dad, Hugo Aguilar! Keep families together!

Hugo Aguilar, is a 42 year-old father of 3 US Citizen children who has resided in the United States for over 20 years, coming to this country when he was teenager.  He is a caring and dedicated father and a union carpenter with over 20 years of experience. His eldest daughter, Hulissa, is a 9th grader at Arroyo High School and San Lorenzo, a 4.0 student, and involved in student leadership.

This month Hugo’s immigration case and appeal to remain in California, his home, was denied.  He is unfortunately a victim of Trump’s anti-immigration policies and actions to radically reshape the judicial makeup of the 9th Circuit Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.  With no appeals left, he has been ordered deported to Mexico on November 2nd, 2020, one day before the 2020 election.   Hugo, his teenage daughter, Hulissa and members of California’s interfaith community are asking ICE Field Officer Director, David Jennings to exercise Prosecutorial Discretion and deferred action to demonstrate mercy and compassion to allow Hugo to stay and remain with his family.

In Hulissa’s words, ”I'm asking you all to please help me and my family. We are asking ICE to extend my Dad’s time and hopefully to stop the deportation process. During these times the laws are very hard on immigrants. My Dad is just as important and valued like the rest of the people in this country. Please help me share my dad's story. Sign the petition and let's be the change this country needs. One case at a time.”
