Add a .eo top-level domain for the Esperanto community

The Issue

Esperanto is a language without a country but not a language without a community. In fact, the Esperanto community is large, international, active and growing, and the internet plays a fundamental enabling role.

Thousands of people use Esperanto websites to learn the language (e.g. lernu.net, duolingo.com), to arrange meetings (e.g. pasportaservo.org), to share ideas on blogs and forums, to access, share and discuss Esperanto music (e.g. vinilkosmo.com) and online radio channels (e.g. muzaiko.info), for national and international organizations (uea.org, esperanto-usa.org...) and for much more.

Yet unlike language communities attached to specific countries, there is no top-level domain (TLD) for the Esperanto community. With the recent expansion of the scope of TLDs, the Esperanto community would benefit from and is deserving of one of its own. This would allow Esperanto-language or themed websites to be clearly identifiable by their URL.

We the undersigned request that ICANN consider this request and add a TLD for Esperanto: .eo
