The Belastingdienst in the Netherlands has recently announced the timeline for shortening the period of time expats can benefit form the 30% ruling from 8 years to 5 years. The new law will go into effect for all current and future beneficiaries of the 30% ruling Jan 1, 2019. This law heavily impacts expats who are already here and expats who have recently accepted jobs and plan to move here. This especially negatively impacts those who have a mortgage or started a family since 2014.

We request a revision to the law to exempt anyone who arrived in the Netherlands before 2019.
