I want to change the "APPROACH" of the way Child Protective Services assist our families.
The Issue
- The way CPS has handled myself and many other families has been with intimidation, threats, degrading, inhumane, and heartless ways and given little or no support. Support that is much needed in our community today. I was forgotten after my kids removed and my daughter passed away. These case workers are not interested in help fixing these families with many kinds of issues. These people (CPS) are not qualified to work with different types of lives and how to help.They are separating so many kids at a young age and not trying to help these parents.SHAME on them, they were not finished with these cases. All this pain made me come up with a program that would have helped me and my kids grieve together and grow from the pain .but separation was chosen. This program allows parents that are approached by CPS that have issues that need to be worked on agree to work with case worker on a 30 -60 day program that gives parent a chance to admit and change while kids are kept at the home.
