Dear Friends...and even though I don't know many of you, supporting this cause makes you my friend! :-) We now have 118 signatures and growing! So many thoughtful, sensible and articulate comments. The Assembly Housing and Community Development Committee will take up SB 1069 on June 15th and then it goes to the Assembly Local Government Committee on June 29th. My goal is to reach 500 signatures before June 29th and our petition will be presented along with a similar ADU petition that's on change.org from the Bay Area that already has 600 signatures. Please, PLEASE keep spreading the word. Also, if you or anyone you know have a story about having an unpermitted unit that was built out of necessity and that is unpermitted because the city's zoning regulations made it impossible to permit without going thru the costly and not guaranteed variance process, and you would be willing to share that story, please email me at irabelgrade@aol.com, as we may be able to present that to the Assembly.
