I live under a flight path and ask for a change. Too many planes fly over my house.
The Issue
THE BACKGROUND
The FAA is implementing its NextGen project, which in the last decade has resulted in an extensive change in the way planes are directed in and out of runways.
THE ISSUE
Planes are using precise GPS navigation and fly over the same paths, all day long, at all hours. Every runway has specific corridors that must be used, and few factors dictate which runway is used at any given time: these include wind direction, traffic, clouds and operational needs. Communities noise impact is not there, because the FAA is in fact using a metric which does not prevent
THE NOISE MEASURE
The metric is called DNL. Its flaws are becoming more and more clear nowadays, and it is a good thing that the FAA is now in the process of reviewing it. Please check on their page (https://www.faa.gov/noisepolicyreview and comment to ensure we get a positive change in that matter.
WHY TO SIGN THIS
We are looking to gather as many citizens affected as possible, regardless of their location. We need to demonstrate that we are not a few disgruntled complainants.
If you also are experiencing long spells of never-ending engine roars, sign up and see that you are not alone in this difficult situation.
Let's do a head count and check how many people are affected by NextGen. And after that, we will work together to find a solution!
