I am a Mother and a Grandmother and feel the utmost need to protect our young. I have experienced sexual abuse and know the irreparable harm this does to a child. To know of the most trusted people taking advantage of innocent and defenceless children, often by subterfuge and deceit, is criminal. To know that many perpetrators are protected by their seniors in the church, rather than protecting the children, is absolutely disgusting and unforgiveable. Celibacy obviously doesn’t work and harms too many. Where is the sanity of the church ?
