I am An Athlete, Too
Jun 5, 2022

It happened.  Yesterday, athletes who had never been able to participate before with their teams rallied with the best of the best of high school track stars at both the Upper and Lower Peninsula of Michigan Finals.  I need to find a better word to use than EPIC, but that's the only one that seems to come to mind at the moment.  EPIC.  Don't get me wrong.  We still have work to do, as the MHSAA did not allow these kids to score points for their team nor compete in all available events. The push for that continues. But the kids themselves?  They left their heart on the track, gave it their all.  It was... I'll say it again.... EPIC.  We have worked super hard to make this a reality, and guess what.  It's a reality.  It happened.  THANK YOU, each and every one of you, for your support through this process.  Keep spreading the word, reaching out to your own school districts.  There's more kids out there wanting to participate, who just don't know they can.  Show them Maria, Jimmy, Johnny, Jake and Jake.  Let them know what's possible!
