The Track and Field committee of the MHSAA met on January 26th to discuss Maria's proposal to add an adaptive category.  We don't have all the details just yet, but what we can tell you is that a unanimous decision was made to advance a proposal establishing an adaptive category for track and field at regional and final events, starting THIS SPRING!  So, something is going to happen for adaptive athletes  in 2022 - we just don't know exactly what that's going to look like yet.  The proposal now goes to the Representative Council, which will vote on it at their next meeting on March 25th.  We have every reason to hope that a competitive model will pass, but we need to keep spreading the word, sharing the petition, and shouting from the rooftops until it becomes a reality.
