S/A Uttam Dhillon, current DEA Administrator.
The Issue
First of all, these misguided terrorists should not fear death. They should fear The Lord who holds the keys to heaven and hell: Es muy probable que estos terroristas están en camino al infierno muy pronto. ¡Ciertamente son una amenaza para la sociedad y la seguridad nacional! There are things, torments, and places much worse than death. And they are eternal. Here on Earth, our military will crush them. Secondly, the opioid crisis is near and dear to my heart. It now literally an epidemic. I received such support and leadership from the DEA when I was a County Sheriff's Narcotics Investigator and was loaned out to the DEA for approximately 2 years to investigate more high profile prescription drug diversion cases. We accomplished a lot. In fact, I owe a lot of that support to former DEA Special Agent Patrick Clayton. He was instrumental in getting me involved with the DEA Task Force to begin with. Retired S/A Mike Marbert deserves kudos as well. The following individuals were out of the Savannah Resident Office, and they deserve major kudos...such as retired DEA Diversion Investigator Jo Ann Calano and DI Supervisor Linda Traub. The Resident Agent in Charge of the Savannah Office at the time was S/A Gregory Cherundolo; and his leadership, expertise, and support were essential to our mission. As a highly competent agent, he has recently been promoted to DEA Chief of Staff in DC. I am very proud of you Greg! You have a long documented career of excellence! Finally, border security is a must. People shall either enter the country legally or shall be refused admission across our borders. If they are drug traffickers, Sinaloa Cartel members, MS 13 gang members, or human traffickers then lock them up. Imprison them for a good period of time. Then deport them. If anyone attempting to cross our borders uses or attempts to use violence against our law enforcement and military personnel protecting those areas; then law enforcement should use the use of force continuum (which is not rigid in nature, it can change in a heartbeat). However, if illegals attempt to break down the border barriers with force and attack our military personnel, then deadly force is immediately authorized. That is not a violation of Posse Comitatus. The military would not be in a law enforcement role in that situation. They would be protecting our borders from hostile invaders. And that is their job!
