We are excited to let you know that at last we have mainstream media coverage for our petition seeking a national no-fault compensation scheme for healthcare injuries.

Legal affairs reporter Michaela Whitbourn interviewed Sarah and Vickie, along with oncologist Professor Richard Epstein and Peter Breadon of the Grattan Institute. Her article has appeared in the online and print versions of the Sydney Morning Herald and the Melbourne Age. Please support our
petition for no-fault compensation for Australian injured patients.

The article highlights the drawbacks of the existing system, as illustrated by Sarah and Vickie’s personal experiences. It canvasses the pros and cons of a no-fault system, such as New Zealand’s, and considers the possible benefits of transitional improvements such as trialling court-appointed
experts.

We encourage you to read the article, and circulate it to as many people as you can, along with the link to our petition. An important conversation about how to improve the outcome for patients harmed in the healthcare system is beginning.

Gratefully,
Sarah and Vickie
