Hyatt Regency Crystal City do not host Safari Club International's Board of Director's Meeting May 4-May 7, 2016.   SCI is a pro-hunting organization that is the largest proponent of African trophy hunting under the guise of wildlife conservation and nonprofit standing. They manage to maintain a 501(c)(3) status that allows for tax deductions and exemptions  while using animal trophies as their crowning achievement. SCI urges members to compete for the largest and best representation of the animal species to kill in order to add to their notorious record book while promoting canned hunting and encouraging members to advance to levels in big game hunting; all African Five would record a hunters name in their book as completing the "GrandSlam".  Safari Club International has among it's member unethical hunters and poachers such as the infamous WALTER PALMER who illegally lured and poached Cecil the Lion of Zimbabwe out of his protected Hwange National Park in July of 2015.    Hyatt Regency,  trophy hunting is an archaic sport that is supported by fewer people every year.  Statistics show that Americans are against trophy hunting two to one, and at least 64% favor restrictions on all hunting. Safari Club International claims to promote conservation by hunting,  however the facts prove otherwise.  In fact all of the "BIG 5" are on the endangered or threatened species list.  By supporting Safari Club International you are supporting the slaughter of the last of our elephants, lions, rhinos, leopards, and water buffalo. Safari Club International also claims that they are aiding poor African communities through hunting, when actually only 3% of the millions of dollars generated by Safari Club International ever trickles down to these communities. The world is looking to you Hyatt Regency to stand on the right side of history against extinction.  Good corporate responsibility would be for the Hyatt Regency to donate funds to the preservation of wildlife and to true conservation.  There are many organizations who are in desperate need of resources to care for the injured and orphaned animals who are casualties of the very trophy hunting that you promote. Hyatt Regency do not host a Meeting of Board of Directors  that the majority of American people do not support. Do not align your business with bloodthirsty poachers such as Walter Palmer.   Cancel your hosting of Safari Club International's Board of Director's Meeting May 4-7, 2016.  PLEASE JOIN US AT S.H.A.M.E.
