I made this petition to bring attention to the unnecessary suffering of pigeons because of the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington DC. This issue is causing fatalities and severe injuries to pigeons trying to safely nest with their babies. Please sign and share with others!!

The Hyatt Hotel in Washington DC has an overhang which has become a local nesting spot for pigeons. The hotel, in an effort to prevent the pigeons from living there, put up mesh fencing and spikes to keep the pigeons out. However they refuse to maintain the fencing and the fencing is now falling to pieces, allowing the pigeons in and out but leaving deadly nails and wire hanging loosely around spots where pigeons are frequently entering and exiting. 

In the past few weeks, 4 pigeons have been caught in the net and left to hang till they die. For one, his carcass remains there and another had to be euthanized from severe injuries due to the netting. The hotel is again refusing to remove the netting, stating the pigeons are nuisances and they don’t have funds to fill in the gap. However during their time protesting the removal of the netting, pigeons are dying in cruel and painful ways! I’m looking to add pressure to the company to remove the netting and nails to keep these pigeons alive and use more helpful, kind methods to prevent the pigeons from living in the area.
