I am petitioning and hope many others will join me in asking for the city to reconsider reinstating Jackie and Wayne as Hutto's ACOs. No longer having Jackie and Wayne as the city's only ACOs is a tragedy not only to their livelihoods but to this town.

Jackie and Wayne have been indispensable in rescuing and reuniting pets with their loved ones. Both have always been available when a call for assistance has come from many of us in this community. Their tireless efforts of containing lost pets and strays who might otherwise meet other unfortunate circumstances is one of the many reasons the people in this town are so appreciative and grateful. Jackie and Wayne have given so much to this community and are cared for by so many because of all they do.

Animal Control Officers in Hutto are a vital service that this town cannot go without. Hutto has exploded in population over the past few years and will continue to grow. The effects of not having animal control would be detrimental to the lives of pets, wildlife, and to the citizens of town. Hutto Police are their own entity and should not have to take on this role which would only take away from their other duties necessary to this town.
