Dear Mr. Jeffrey Hunt: Re: Ripping my dog out of my loving arms,
I am contacting you today regarding your letter dated June 8, 2011. This letter concerns the removal of my dog from my home here in the Forest Hill Village Condominium community. I feel I am being unfairly targeted by the board, as I am well aware of three other canines in this community that are over the predetermined height requirements. In addition, there currently are two other residents in the condominium community that blatantly house more than one dog. To me, my dog is my child, and to exclusively target my situation with so many blatant infractions all around me is very concerning to say the least.
If my dog is ripped from my loving arms, does this mean that everyone else in this community is afforded the same treatment? As I previously stated, there are three other dogs over the size limit, and two other units housing more than one dog. My canine is at full size, and to tear him away from me over the matter of a few inches does not seem to be the most equitable of solutions. What I am seeking, and asking from you, as to help modify the by-laws of this association, do whatever is necessary to keep my child here with me. My dog has resided here with me peacefully, for almost one year, and has never caused any problems within the community. He is as well behaved as all the other dogs in the community, and most importantly, he is a loving and respected member of my family. My dog is always leashed and never left, on the common property grounds unattended. My dog, (Sammy) and the other dogs have the luxury of private townhouses in this community, as opposed to communities with a controlled access door and common lobby. These dogs go right into the private homeowner’s residence without disturbing the neighbors. I cannot overstate the fact that Sammy has never caused the even the slightest of problems, and I am quite distraught that I am being singaly ruled out, by ripping away my child, my dog Sammy, from the only family he has known.
Mr. Hunt, I am asking you to graciously consider modifying the by-laws of this association, so these family members can reside with their owners in their own private units. All by-laws can be modified for they are a community guideline, not a State Law. I truly feel there is no rational basis for the current by-laws, being as we live in townhouse condominiums with private door entry and private attached garages as well. I am well aware that the by-laws are enacted as a guide line of the entire community, and can be modified, but I am urging you to consider modifying these laws so that we all may keep our child here with us in my time of need. Now truly what is difference in size? How do you love one any less of an Inch guideline? They all go outside, the same way to do their duties; and they are loved equally, not any less because of size. I feel such inch infraction does not warrant the treatment I am receiving. A few inches should not determine whether or not we lose a member of my family and ultimately uproot our entire life’s we have worked so hard to achieve. I want us all to live here, peacefully. Sammy and I wish no harm on anyone, as well as all the other dogs, all we desire is to live here peacefully and enjoy the love that we bring into each other’s lives. In closing, I once again am asking you to please consider modifying the by-laws so that my child may live here with me. If you have any questions and/or concerns, please feel free to contact me. Thank you again for your time and consideration.
Sincerely
Maria LoPiparo
